Tanner EAP For Managers
How can a manager refer an employee?
If the manager is aware of an employee’s personal concerns, he or she may encourage the employee to make an appointment and provide them with information about Tanner EAP, including the location and phone number. When the employee’s job performance is affected, the manager may suggest the EAP as a way to resolve performance problems through professional help and assist them with scheduling the appointment.
What should a manager expect from a referral?
Most of the time the only information a manager will receive from the EAP is that the employee attended the initial session. Again, unless the employee gives written permission, no information of a personal nature is provided to anyone other than the EAP professional staff. If the employee is able to resolve his or her personal problems, the manager will typically see improvement in the employee’s job performance.
What other EAP services are available for managers?
Managers may, of course, call Tanner EAP for their own concerns or problems. Even managers occasionally experience personal problems. In addition, they may consult with EAP staff regarding group or individual job performance issues, teamwork or team building concerns, or when dealing with a workplace crisis. Tanner EAP also provides a number of staff development programs that can be tailored to fit the needs of the specific workplace.
